The Drill & Drive™ is a 3-in-1 tool you can use to pre-drill, countersink, then flip the insert and drive screws into decking. The ease of use makes pre-drilling hardwoods and installing deck screws 3 times faster than standard drilling & driving.

Deck builders, once you start using the Drill & Drive™ toolkit, you'll quickly realize how much faster and more productive every single deck install will be in the future. For homeowners, the Drill & Drive™ system can be used for more than deck building. It's utility makes it the perfect solution for home touch-up, or home renovation project.
With the Drill&Drive™ 1/8” drill bit and countersink, drill a hole for the initial face-driven screws along the back edge of the starter board, parallel to the ledger board. Continue drilling allowing the 3/8" counter-sink bit to bore a hole approximately 1/4" to 3/8" deep (depending on your deck board thickness) for each top-side down fastening screw.
Easily unlock the Quick Change Collar to flip the Chuck around to use the T15 Star drive bit and lock into place. Securely drive a stainless steel deck screw down into the countersunk hole into the ledger board below.
Place a drop of glue (polyurethane based recommended) into the countersunk hole. Insert a hardwood plug, tamp down tight, and flush cut with a hand saw, belt sander or an orbital sander with 80 grit sand paper. Wipe away any excess glue that may squeeze out. This glue will secure the hardwood wood plug from popping up and will act as a moisture barrier, sealing the hole and deck screw.
NOTE: If not installing pre-grooved decking, use a biscuit jointer or a router (with a 5/32 " X 1/2 " slot cutting bit) to cut a slot in the edge of deck board above each joist. You will want to center this groove in the board edge so there is a symmetrical profile.
Unlock and flip the Quick Change Collar and Chuck to use the 1/8” drill and countersink bit. Insert one Ipe Clip® fastener into the board groove above each joist. Pre-drill a 1/8 " pilot hole at a 45° angle through the Ipe Clip® fastener, down into deck board bottom groove. This pre-drill will ensure the board will not crack.
Quickly unlock and flip the Quick Change Collar to the T15 Star drive bit and drive a stainless steel deck screw down into the pilot hole to secure the hidden deck fastener. Repeat until all hidden deck fasteners are installed and the last deck board is ready to be installed.
Repeat Steps 1-3 to fasten the outer deck board.
Adjustable pilot hole and counter-sink drill bit system. Use to countersink screws for drilling plug holes with pilot holes all in one step.
