WiseSeal® End-Grain Sealant is a specially formulated water-based sealer to protect fresh cut ends of boards. End cuts of decking and lumber dry out faster than the center, which can lead to unsightly end checks (drying splits) that can spread quickly. These end cuts also expose decking and siding material to the elements which require added protection to prevent water intrusion that can lead to swelling, mold, mildew, warping and cupping.
WiseSeal® is proven to increase the structural integrity of hardwood, thermally modified wood, soft woods, PT (pressure treated) and composite material.
Designed to protect decking, siding/cladding, railings, steps, log ends, turning blanks, and other exposed end grain. DeckWise® makes it easy to protect inventory and on-site material for long-lasting results. WiseSeal® is a durable water-based formula, eco-friendly and forms a flexible, breathable barrier by coating the wood fibers at the cellular level, providing exceptional protection. This product is paintable and stainable after 24 hours.
WiseSeal® protects the cut ends of boards by preventing water absorption. It can be used to preserve old or new wood, extending its natural life. It is non-film forming, non-yellowing and will not alter the natural beauty of the wood. It forms a flexible breathable barrier that allows the board to expand and contract and allow water vapor to escape.
One 16 oz. container of end grain sealer covers approximately 30 ft2 of board ends. Due to differences in wood species, variety of climatic conditions, and an individual's usage methods; results are NOT guaranteed.
WiseCoat® Premium Hardwood Deck, Siding & Fence Sealer pairs perfectly with WiseSeal® End-Grain Sealer to protect all sides of wood decking and cladding. By sealing each side of the board, this reduces the likelihood of cupping, warping, cracking, and other changes that can diminish the beauty and structural integrity of wood over time. WiseSeal® End-Grain Sealer is also tintable with our WiseCoat® colorants!
